Hyungwook received his PhD in Developmental Psychology and Computational Modeling from the Ohio State University in 2015, where he worked with Vladimir Sloutsky. From 2016 to 2021, he was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow working with Simon Dennis, where he followed the lab from the University of Newcastle to the University of Melbourne in Australia. He is currently an Associate Professor in Cognitive Sciences at Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea. As a computational cognitive scientist, his research focuses on specifying the mechanisms that enable us to learn and acquire knowledge, and understanding how these learning mechanisms change over time, through experience, and development. Methodologically, he has been examining human behavior, and building computational models that better explain these behavioral patterns.
Joo Yun received her BA in Food and Nutrition from Hanyang University in 2014, MA in Cognitive Psychology from Sungkyunkwan University in 2017, and MS MA in Clinical Nurition from Hanyang University in 2024. Before joining the lab, she did an internship in the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University and worked at a food tech company in Seoul (Wehuddling) as a Project Manager (UX & service planner). As a dietitian and cognitive psychologist wannabe, Joo Yun flies everywhere to learn about people's behavior toward food. She has founded 'Nutricious', an eating behavior education company, and is concurrently pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition at Hanyang University. Her ultimate goal is to understand the mechanisms underlying eating behavior and to help people eat healthy without stress. She has founded 'nutricious studio’, an eating behavior consulting company, designing private nutrition and behavior plans based on individual lifestyle.
